Churchill on the Home Front, 1900-1955
Published in Paperback by Trafalgar Square (May, 1994)
Author: Paul Addison
Average review score:

There's more to Churchill than 1939-45
To the extent they know anything about him at all (given the sad state of education today), most people know of Sir Winston Churchill as the man who led Britain during its Finest Hour. But even if World War II had never happened, a strong case could be made that Churchill was one of the most influential and important British politicians of the Twentieth Century. Addison's excellent book shows why.

First elected to Parliament in the last days of Queen Victoria's reign, Churchill served until the time of the current Monarch. Addison covers all those years thoroughly, not only shedding new light on well-known incidents like Tonypandy, the General Strike, and Sidney Street, but also on less visible (but arguably more important) topics like Churchill's ongoing commitment to prison reform.

Like it was for his nation, World War II was Churchill's Finest Hour. But it was only about one-tenth of his storied career. Anyone who would have a well-rounded understanding of this well-rounded man needs to have Addison's book on his shelves.

Author: Linda D. Addison
Average review score:

A powerful, moving collection
This wonderful poetry collection is broken down into three sections: Things Gone Bad, In Between and Transformation. It's an emotional reading experience, and an important work by one of her generation's greatest poets.

Consumer Behavior and Managerial Decision Making (Addison-Wesley World Student Series)
Published in Paperback by Pearson Higher Education (26 July, 1999)
Author: Kardes
Average review score:

Best CB book on the market
Kardes' book is by far the best consumer behavior book on the market. Business success is ultimately determined by the decisions of consumers. Accordingly, it is essential for managers to be well grounded in the principles of consumer behavior and decision making. No other book comes close at providing readers with knowledge of CB that can be easily and immediately applied to improve business function. It should be required reading for all MBA students.

Crazy Dog Song: Night of the Equinox
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (July, 2001)
Author: Alice Addison
Average review score:

Suspense and Mystery written in Beautiful Prose
This novel is a beautifully written account of two southern families in decay, trying to hold on to a past that isn't there.

What is really amazing is that such suspense and strangeness can be written in what is almost poetry at times. Beautifully written descriptions of decaying Gothic plantations form pleasing oxymorons.

Two reviews I read state that 'Alice Addison' is a pseudonym for Mack Mangham who wrote the extremely compelling "Shadow of the Hawk." It is easy to see his flowing style in the prose of both novels.

This book deserves your attention. Once into it, you will be compelled to rush to the strange and horrifying ending which still manages to remain uplifting.

Dallas Fort Worth and the Metroplex: #1 Guide to Addison, Arlington, Farmers Branch, Garland, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Irving, Mesquite, North Richland Hills, Plano, Richardson (Serial)
Published in Paperback by Texas Monthly Pr (September, 1997)
Authors: Robert Rafferty and Loys Reynolds
Average review score:

Bravo!
As a 25 year resident of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, I must say this man knows his stuff. His ratings of the restaurants are dead on and his discriptions of the cities is not only factual but also amusing. There are things he found I didn't know about and are dying to check out. This is a must read for anyone who wants to know some little known facts about this great metroplex.

Data Structures and C Programs (Addison-Wesley Series in Computer Science)
Published in Hardcover by Addison-Wesley Publishing (November, 1990)
Author: Christopher J. Van Wyk
Average review score:

ALMOST THE KNUTH APPROACH TO DATA STRUCTURES
I had found this book a few years ago, in my Master's, working on the side-project for my thesis. I started using the Knuth's books, for designing the data structures. First time I started working with it, I found the same level as on Knuth's, but using C. Fantastic. I did not have to think in PASCAL em C anymore, only in C. It cut my cycle to one third of the time.

The Dwiggins Marionettes: A Complete Experimental Theatre in Miniature
Published in Hardcover by Plays (June, 1973)
Author: Dorothy Abbe
Average review score:

art mimics life
This book is a treasure. The actual production of the book is quite beautiful with full color prints of Mr. Dwiggins masterpieces. I purchased this book many years ago and have kept it close at hand ever since. I found it inspiring to read about and see the results of Mr. Dwiggins' dedicated efforts in this area. I have built several adaptations using the information provided in this book and found it to be quite a rewarding experience. Life like movement is a hallmark quality of the Dwiggins marionette. There is enough information in this book for an experienced technician to be quite successful in producing a working example.

Economics Today (Addison-Wesley Series in Economics)
Published in Hardcover by Pearson Addison Wesley (October, 2000)
Author: Roger Leroy Miller
Average review score:

Economics simplified for students
Roger LeRoy Miller has improved the quality of Economics today from last year. The book is very resourceful and if used for a class, no student will do poorly in the class. The definitions and data are presented clearly. Economics Today looks at the economy of today and of the past and shows what is beneficial for the economy and what is not. This excellent book has helped me learn all the content and leaning me to consider a major in economics.

Economics Today: The Macro View (Addison-Wesley Series in Economics)
Published in Paperback by Pearson Addison Wesley (December, 2000)
Author: Roger Leroy Miller
Average review score:

Effective and engaging
Has a real knack for conveying complex economic concepts quickly and systematically with little effort. E.g., only a few minutes after reading the Keynesian perspective on fiscal policy I was able to graph and explain how equilibrium changes are affected by government spending. Not having an economics background I find this book remarkable!

A Great Text for AP Spanish Language
This is one of the few texts I have been able to find that gets right to the point when it comes to the AP Spanish Language Course. My students have found it helpful and I will continue using it in the future.
